Why Running Behind Gets You Ahead Of The Game

with No Comments

I believe everybody knows that feeling of running behind in life. The feeling that everybody around you is much further ahead and you are the one that constantly is behind, trying to keep up their pace. They have more followers, money, bigger success in life and business, travel more, doing all the fun stuff you want to do… And you, you are sitting in your apartment wishing your life had background music to understand what the heck is going on. But here’s the good news. Just the fact that you, right now, are aware of this feeling actually can get you ahead of the game. And I am not talking about keeping up their pace and getting ahead of their game. I am talking about getting ahead of YOUR own game.

Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

“Comparison is the thief of joy”, so Theodore Roosevelt said. And that is so very true. Because what you are getting from comparing yourself to others is absolutely nothing. It takes away your joy of things you have achieved and more importantly it steals your time. Time that you can spend on getting where you want to be in life. So you have to become selfish. Take a social media detox, if necessary. Unfollow people that you find yourself comparing yourself with. Personally, I found this very liberating and it ultimately gave me more happiness, less worries and brought me ahead of my game. Give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised by the outcome.

Many ways lead to Rome

Who says the main road is the only way to get you to your destination? There are many roads to take. And very often, the side roads you take, are the ones leading you to places you otherwise would never have seen. Embrace the journey. Where you are right now, is exactly where you are supposed to be. And all those little turns, dead ends and turnarounds you take, just add to your experiences and personal growth. Don’t worry, you will reach your destination. One way or the other. But you have to remember to enjoy the ride.

Don’t you worry

You might feel anger, frustration or anxiety by feeling you are behind. But don’t you worry. You actually are already one step closer to get ahead of the game. For whatever reason you came across this blog post and read it until this very line, means that you are fully aware of your feelings and ready to take actions. Just do it!

So, stop comparing and start embracing and you will get ahead of your game!

Good vibes only,

Nele

While writing I came across Marie Forleo’s inspirational and fun video on why we should stop taking CompareSchlager

Very worth watching it, if you have the time.
