Age 22 my grandpa Willi was sent to war. For six years he fought a war that never was his to fight.
Age 28 he was was taken prisoner and deported to Russia. For four years all he had was letters.
Age 32 he finally returned home and started over. He kept writing letters. Because as he used to say: One's always happy to hear good news
man freut sich doch immer über gute nachrichten
endlich wieder ein gruß von dir
YNDLETTER is me following my grandpa’s footsteps.
It's also an extension of my 30 Days Of Wohin journey. A journey that showed me:
We need personal human connection more than ever. We need to be more present. Here. In real life.
We need to get under our skin and into our heart.
We need people, who are getting under our skin and into our heart.
Sending emojis and likes is easy. Facing real life emotions and going the extra mile for one another is hard.
But I believe. We still can. Do this. Connecting. So that we can find back. To ourselves. To one another. To nature.
So I write. (e)Letters.
'Cause my words are what I needed to tell myself today.
And maybe my words are what somebody else just needed to hear today, too.
yndletter is my heart and soul on paper. My thoughts and reflections on life.
Life's complicated enough. and yet not at all. Writing helps me to make sense of it all.
